Introduction
The great faith traditions have all foretold of an inevitable conclusion to the current state of consciousness and its manifestation known as the world, and that human history is moving towards what are known as the Last Days, or Akhir Zaman.
Although the Last Days are times of increasing trials and tribulations, they are also the precursor to a golden age in which human potential will be awakened and made manifest, and the light of the Divine will shine brightly in the hearts of believers.
In this short post, I share the key to transcending the darkness of the Last Days, and to being prepared for the great awakening of human potential that is to come.
Faith is the Key to the Last Days
Faith has always been the key to both surviving and transcending the trials and tribulations that inevitably occur when humanity persists in arrogance, stubbornness and rebellion.
In the time of the great Prophet Noah (as), they who believed boarded the great ark with him and were saved from the great flood and cleansing of the earth, and served as the population that would survive the human species in a new era and a new age.
In the time of the great Prophet Moses (as), it was the power of his faith in his Lord and Creator, the Lord of Heavens and Earth, and the faith of they who followed and believed in him that not only made it possible for the believers to escape the tyranny and oppression of Pharaoh, but even part the very sea in doing so.
The great Prophet Jesus (as) spoke of the Last Days and the imminent manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven, and that it will be the power of faith and belief that will ensure the righteous and true both reach to and be blessed in a new golden age of human potential and spiritual awakening.
The entirety of the mission and message of the great and noble Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was fundamentally based upon the cultivation of faith and belief, or iman, and that the light of such faith in the heart is the key to human potential and success in addition to safety and salvation in the Last Days.
It is important to keep in mind that the Last Days are not simply times of great trial and tribulation, but also the precursor to a new and beautiful world, described by some great spiritual masters as al-Asr al-Karamat, or the Age of Miracles, during which the secret and reality of human potential will be unveiled through the power of belief.
While this world easily distracts us from what matters most and that which is eternal, it is essential for the believer to continuously remember and concurrently seek to cultivate faith and belief in the heart.
This is done best by learning to engage in worship and spiritual practice with presence and with consciousness, intent and awareness. When spiritual exercise and practice is performed with presence, the heart receives light from the Divine Presence, and thus faith and belief are awakened and strengthened within.
